The Agriculture and Aquaculture Analytical Service Center of Meiho University at Taiwan was a comprehensive laboratory for food safety testing and nutrition science. Equipped with modern and high-end analytical instruments such as GC-MS/MS , LC-MS/MS, the service center provide analytical solutions for government, industry and local university. The analytical solutions provided by the service center include pesticide analysis, food additive analysis, heavy metal analysis, mycotoxin analysis, veterinary drug residue analysis and marine toxin analysis. Through the years, the Agriculture and Aquaculture Analytical Service Center of Meiho University had accumulated many experiences on the use of LC-MS/MS to service local government, industry and university for food safety purpose. In recent years, we have developed validated LC-MS/MS method for marine shellfish toxins and vitamins. Marine shellfish toxins are emerging food safety problems, the EU and Canada is applying the LC-MS/MS as official method for marine shellfish toxins detection. Vitamins are important bio-molecules for health promotion, many western countries are already employing LC-MS/MS for nutrition status survey of vitamins.
